Is It Time for Another Constitutional Convention? Find out in Springboro, OH 07/26/2025

BBFL is pleased announce the next in our U.S. Constitutional education: Liberty Lessons, with a focus on Constitutional Conventions. This Liberty Lesson is offered no cost to you.

There is a significant movement underway right here in Ohio by a well-funded lobbying organization called “Convention of States Action” to convene another convention to try to reign in our Federal Government.  In fact, there are six bills in the Ohio General Assembly right now that would call for another Convention.  Clearly, government spending and corruption and overreach are a real problem in this country.  Most of us would heartily agree.  However, there are many legal experts who are concerned that another Convention could result in unintended consequences, making changes or amendments to our Constitution that many of us would not like, like the Reproductive Freedom Amendment, for example.

This Liberty Lesson will provide a brief overview of the “Convention of States” movement and goals but focus on the concerns that have been raised about the Convention method so to provide both sides of the issue.  We will do our best to leave plenty of time for questions.
