BBFL is pleased announce the next in our U.S. Constitutional education: Liberty Lessons, with a focus on America’s National Founding Covenant – The Declaration of Independence. This Liberty Lesson is offered no cost to you.
Many Americans sense the nation is drifting and are asking two urgent questions: How did we get here—and how do we restore liberty and justice for all?
This Building Blocks for Liberty lecture answers by returning to the source: the Declaration of Independence. Rather than cherry-picking episodes and quotations, our instructor Mark Burrell begins where the founders themselves looked—in Scripture—to outline what God desires for the nations: a moral law, a blueprint for beginning a people, and principles for governing justly.
With that framework in hand, Mark traces how the founding generation established America’s national covenant through the Declaration, and why following that biblical pattern enabled the United States to separate from Britain and grow into a free and productive society. Drawing from the founders’ writings and speeches and recalling Lincoln’s insight that America was “conceived in liberty,” the lecture highlights how religious and civil liberty protect conscience while welcoming every person’s faith journey.
Finally, Mark presents a biblical roadmap for renewal today clarifying what must be restored, what can be reformed, and how citizens can exercise their duty locally and nationally. Come learn the principles, the history, and the steps to help America live up to its promise with courage and hope.
